MY FAVORITE FILMS OF THE DECADE
Due to the holiday turmoil, it is only today that we publish our film ranking, which first appeared online a week ago. I repeat, I am not going to claim that these are the best films of the decade. Not only because I only caught up on a few of them in December, and I certainly didn't manage to see everything I planned or should have seen. Even for the films released this year.
It is very, very subjective and you could probably psychoanalize me based on this list alone. ;)

I tried to include films that were among my favourites at some point during the decade. I am talking specifically about The Cloud Atlas, which is not a brilliant work of art, by any means, but it moved me a lot when I saw it in the cinema when it opened. The King Speech was, I believe, the first film not made for kids that I went to.
The choice of the film of the decade is very special and provocative, because - technically - it is a TV series. However, it was filmed as a long, eighteen-hour film, which was later divided into parts. Specialist periodicals such as Sight And Sound and Cahiers Du Cinema have already put it first in their film rankings. For me, it was one of the most defining life experiences I have ever had and perhaps David Lynch's masterwork (though it's challenging to compare it with Mulholland Drive, for example).
I also decided to include an episode of Atlanta - Teddy Perkins - because I believe it works very well as a stand-alone and you don't have to watch the whole series to enjoy one of the best surreal works of the decade. Then, watch the rest of the show :)
If we're talking about the series, that was the decade when I really got into the Prestige TV and my interest grew slowly, so I still haven't seen many of the most acclaimed series (including, well well, Game Of Thrones). However if there are few more shows that deserved to be mentioned here, that would be: Mr. Robot, True Detective (season 1 and 3), Fargo and Legion. UPDATE 2020: The brilliant HBO series The Leftovers also should be mentioned.
Without further ado, my 100 favorite films of the decade.
