MAVOY MUSIC @ GLASTONBURY 2022

 

At long last, a new edition of Glastonbury Festival. Which means, for those not attending, really spectacular live stream prepared by BBC. As always, British public broadcaster is beating ALL the other festivals, by streaming every action from five stages. These stages remain the same this year - PYRAMID, OTHER, WEST HOLTS, JOHN PEEL and PARK. I sometimes wish they streamed even more of them, but we already dealing with clashes – it really almost feels like we’re attending the festival in person. There will be also a special coverage on BBC TV and radio channels. The gates are open and I’m listening to Lauren Laverne on BBC 6 Music as I’m writing this, she's hosting her show from the fields - the coverage is traditionally excellent. This year, I’m doing this a little differently, I decided to categorize my recommended performances by genre, which is of course a loose classification, without rating. I’m certainly going to switch a lot during these couple of days.

Glastonbury is always broadcasting the artists that no one else does, this year I’d like to direct your attention to three legends. One of those is someone who doesn’t really need any sort of recommendation - the headliner himself, Paul McCartney. There’s Diana Ross on Sunday afternoon. But before Diana, there will be also a rare live stream for Herbie Hancock.

Naturally, I should also mention Jessie Ware’s set on Saturday night. To finally hear the songs from her latest album – and see rumoured Kylie appearance – I’ll have to cut short watching Paul.

If you cannot watch live, all of these performances should be available on demand for 30 days, starting the morning after the specific performance.
